I was pursuing actions of filling gaps in concrete per my earlier post:

and upon clearing up dirt debris off the gap between the concrete of garage (by the garage door) and the driveway concrete, noticed that there is quite a cavelike cavity of a gap in the concrete at the corners where the garage door jamb meets concrete. The cavities had some loose screws and pebbles, I assume left over during construction or remodeling by previous owners/workers that settled there. The walls of the cavities are concrete with the top being the wooden door jamb. Cavity is a little smaller than size of a kiwi, and was orignally covered up with dirt/debris, so you wouldn't notice the hole.

I ended up filling up the cavity with concrete gap/crack filler. But thought I should post here asking if it should have been left open for ventillaton or expansion/contraction of concrete and soil.
And also to ask whether that gap is bad design when concrete was poured or whether it was intentionally left there to assist with installing/removing door jamb?
