framing to do pan decking for a raised porch.

I have a 17'x8' front porch, which has a room underneath. I would like to raise the roof and replace the wood with concrete/metal decking, (pan decking). I want to re-frame with new wood supports underneath. Im just looking for the best way to make sure this is properly framed. Anyone got idea or even better a drawing? thank you for any input.

The galvanized pan insert will need some block piers underneath for support. Those piers will also need a footer.

This is something that is way beyond any residential codes I am aware of.
If you intend to get permits for this in order for you to cover your derriere, I doubt your local Building authority would sign off on anything that is not designed by a licensed engineer.

Andy.

Gee, I've never seen pan decking on anything other than a multi-story steel framed building. I don't think a wood frame would work with it. I may be missing something here, maybe someone could correct me.

All the public parking garages i've ever been in are pan decks.

Oh yeah, that too. Not any residential decks, though.
