Footing for covered patio - Want to finish walls

1 Attachment(s)
I have a covered patio with a screened in porch. I want to finish this into a laundry/mud room, but I don't know if there is a footing under the covered patio. I cannot just dig next to it to see because there is house on two sides, driveway on one side and another concrete slab on the fourth side.

Is it safe to finish off the screened porch walls that have already been started? This house was built in 1960 and there is no sign of cracking in the porch floor.

What is the best way to find out if I do have a footing?

Highly unlikly there's more then just 4" of concrete under there. A simple test would be to drill a 1/2 X 12" deep hole with a hammer drill in the bottom plate near one of the support coloums the beam is resting on in the outside corner.

One issue your going to have to deal with is the bottom plate of the wall will be sitting level with the slab outside the porch.
As sure way to have water coming in under the wall.
I'd concider adding a row of block where the new wall will be sitting.
The new siding needs to be at least 6" up off of that slab.
