Driveway patch

I have a small patch in my driveway to fill. Purely cosmetic. It's where the old footer was located from my old porch. 2x1 about and inch or two deep. Trying to use correct product. I bought trowel asphalt patch from home depot. Would this be the correct product to use? There was another product that requires tampering. Something I dont have. Thanks!

Driveway patch

That trench looks shallow from where I am sitting. Hopefully it is at least 3/4 tof a inch deep

I have had good luck with the bagged HD ashpalt patch material, just makes sure it is not too old. Clean the trench of all loose debris and pour it in when its above 50 degrees and tamp it flat. Sealer is optional or dont seal it you want the color to match the existing drive color.

Driveway patch

rent a hand tamp OR borrow 1 somewhere - rent ( trade for beer ) from an asphalt co ? 2x4 & 3# hammer also works well as does a 2x10 which you'd drive over
