Connecting wood board to cinderblock

I Have some pillars of blocks set up and mortared together. I am still going to be a little short on making them tall enough to be level so I need some blocks and shims. Is there a glue or something that will stick the wood to the blocks just to make them that much more sturdy. I need to be able to put weight on it right away since they are the last details to make the shed nice and level.
