Concrete stress gaps question

When our driveway was poured 20 years ago wood was placed in the stress gaps. Now that the wood is rotting and being taken out what should be put in the gaps?

What I did was remove the wood, then put closed cell foam cord (in the insulation aisle) in the gap then Sikaflex self-leveling compound (in a caulking gun) about 1/4-3/8 inch deep.

Dam the ends with cardboard or something similar until it sets.
