concrete bartop

I have 3 3 1/2 inch x 40 inch concrete slabs that I am using for an outdoor bar top. I will be tiling over them on the top and the edging. Do I need to pin the slabs together? Or can I put some kind of adhesive or silicone to mate them and then tile over the joints without having the tiles crack in the future?

They need to be solid and not move or the tiles will crack. Pinning won't hurt.

Your best bet would be to plan your tile layout so that the tiles seamed at the end of the concrete panels.
