CMU for patio wall. LW or HW

I'm building a small L-shaped sitting wall. 11x11' @ 24" high.

I want to use CMU and then set some manufactured stones over it (stonecraft or coronado for example).

The CMU blocks at my local home depot or lowes are showing 27 and 28 lbs, but I see other blocks online weighing in over 30lbs.

Bottom line: what would be a minimum weight to ensure this wall is sound? Would these 28lb blocks be able to provide enough stability?

It's being put on earth (packed and gravel substrate).

thanks guys, as always.

the light weight blocks are for ease of installation and will not make the wall weaker at all. But they cost a bit more, you pay for being a wimp! Proper drainage and a proper footing will make the wall, seat work.

I'm finding them for around $1.50 ea. as long as the wall is sound I don't mind lifting the heavies.

Thanks a lot for the reply.

How about using the split face with a proper concrete footer too?
Three courses above grade (one below) and you have a good bench height.
