Brick Fireplace - how to Tile over it?
We have an older Ranch style home with an ugly brick fireplace, that has a SPIT in it as well ... The brick goes up the wall about 8 feet, and another 6 feet wide, with the fire area in the middle of it (about 3.5 feet up from the floor). We want to install a Gas Insert into it. But first want to resurface it with some nice tile or stone (otehr than brick).
How would YOU do this sort of remodel? Would you remove all the brick first? or would you just put some sort of "smooth coat" over the brick and adhesive the new tiles right on top? thanks in advance. |
