Bed for basketball goal

My kids' protable basketball goal sits on the lawn at the the edge of our driveway. The deiveway slopes down, slightly, away from the house. Over time, the goal has tilted more and more towards the street. I would like to level out the spot where it sits. I am looking for suggestions on materials to use and how deep it should be. Thanks
