wood sash windows (and door)

Nothing fancy... they're just for the garage.
Is there a modest priced choice that ISN'T vinyl?

Any suggestions of what to ask/look for?
Thanks

You want clad or unclad?

You looking for a wood interior?

Marvin Integrity are nice. Fiberglass exterior, wood interior.

Why not vinyl? Big price jump up for clad, composite or fiberglass.

Ya'all are are as bad as the HD drones trained to avoid just saying NO.

So I guess the answer to the Q is: "Sorry, I have no suggestions for you"
It's what I expected but hoped someone would have something.

I am trying to help you out buddy.

Fiberglass will have the same exterior look.

Can't go wrong to stay semi-cheap with the Andersen 200.

I get that part of it...
but the suggestions should come AFTER asking the direct Q.
---

Back to the original situation:
These old DH windows aren't all that old.
The glass and sash are in good shape as is the jamb and such.

The real problem is the tin foil slide guide things. They're crap.
I suspect that they were crap when they were brand new.

Local guy suggested a "kit" to convert the windows to tilt in (cool)
that also replaces the side/guide business. As I understand it....
the sash's are trimmed down some on each side and then have
a channel cut and a pin like gizmo screwed in and all that fits in/with
the new side guide pieces.

Can anyone recommend a specific brand to use (or NOT use)??
Thanks.

If the frames are good, sash packs are fine.

Bunch of guys make them. They are trickier to install but not impossible.

Marvin makes a nice one but doesn't exactly hit that "modest" price part.

Trimline makes and okay kit.
