Might want to tell us what it is your trying to do, and why there there removing the stops.

Were they suppost to be just installing replacement windows?
If you go back and reread your post it's not very clear.

I don't know of any code that includes window stops. If they don't leak, fall out, or wind blows through, their installation may not require them. If it looks incomplete that is a different issue. Check their contract as to what is included.

Replacement widows require the removal of either the inside or outside stops.

Your post is not clear.

Are you sure they have not reinstalled stops?

Why do these people even work out in the field is beyond me. Sorry to hear about your demise there "Answers". Forget the code concerns. Make it right. Buy the material you need to mill out your own stops and install them.

The most important thing here is your customer. Your problem should not be his or her problem. Fix it and pursue the Sub. Sometimes we just have to bite the bullet.....and or eat crow.

In the end you'll be the one walking with integrity.

Good luck.
