Window repair

When I opened my window, the frame pulled away from the glass and now I have a space at the top of the window between the top of the glass and the frame. I have tried to hammer the frame back together to no avail. Any suggestions?

Window repair

You are going to get the best suggestions if you post a picture----

Also --what is the window made of? wood or plastic or aluminum?
