i have a new construction house and made an error on the r.o. on all the window r.o by 2 inches larger and taller than necessary.
would like to just add an aditional sill and a jack on one side to fill the gap. the windows are vinal.
window size is 35.5 inches and my r.o is 38 inches
also thought of mabee wraping the window r.o with a 3/4x6 inch wood to take up some of the space.
the window flange on each side is 5/8 or so i think
thank you matt

Both ways would work, but using just 1, 2 X at the bottom and on one side would cut your work in 1/2 and there would be less chance of ending up with a nail between the pieces.

make sure to add the filler the exact same on each window so they do sit in the openings differently etc... also, rework the housewrap/window wrap so that it is sealed tight after the new filler. filling in at the top might be the best way to do it and do not mess with the bottoms of the window plate/sill and wrap. new constructon window flange should be about 1- 1/8" surrounding entire window with the nail holes about 1/4" to 3/8" in from edge of flange..

if you do wrap with a 3/4" piece do not use plywood as it will not accept nails through the edge and into the separate plys...
