Which will be more cost effective?

Ordering a custom sized 32x76 door or opening up the hole (which will include cutting back siding) to fit a 32x80.

Not sure the upcharge on custom sized doors. Was thinking about Therma Tru but if anyone has any other cost effective suggestions, I'm all ears.

A lot depends on how the header above the door is built--and the outside door trim.

And if you will be doing the work yourself.

I would most likely enlarge the opening--if the outside work isn't to extensive.

Post a picture inside and outside,if you can.

Yep. a pic would help. The rough opening needed for a 32x80 door is 34x84 If you have that(height could be slightly less), you can install the standard door. To raise the header requires a bit of structural rearranging and removing inside and outside wall coverings. It can be done without removing one side, but gets tricky for a casual DIY.
