Where to buy good patio door DIY?

I've been to Lowes and am not convinced that the Therma Tru patio door is a good one...
I'm looking to buy a decent quality slider (vinyl or clad) and have FIL install. Where in the midwest can you find DIY sliding doors besides HD and Lowes, that are good quality?? Recommended brands?

I prefer Anderson----never had a problem with one of their doors----Not cheap but very trouble free.

You should not have any trouble finding a supplier.

For quality vinyl, you'll need to go to a building supply house like Allied, ABC or Richards. PlyGem/Great Lakes and Gorell are pretty nice. If you want clad, the Andersen's, Pella, and Weathershield are all pretty nice.

So you have Allied & ABC there.
I didn't think Allied was that big of a company.
We have one about 20 miles north.
ABC just bought out Bradco.
Bradco was huge.
I know they had locations along the East Coast and in California and I think in Texas (but I'm not sure about that).
Probably a bunch of other places that I'm not aware of.

Allied is all over the US. They (along with ABC) are the top distributors in my area, and to my knowledge, are "big dogs" in most markets nationwide.
