What is the trim piece called that covers the closet track?

We need to replace this piece but I can't figure out what it's called and haven't been able to locate it at Home Depot. I'm not sure if it's just outdated and that may be why it's hard to find.

It's the metal trim piece that juts down from the ceiling to cover the track. It doesn't serve a purpose other than hiding the track so I believe it's probably molding in newer homes, but I'd rather not replace all of ours if I can get a metal one that matches our other closets.

Thanks!

Not sure we would know what it looks like without a picture.
I just use cove, inside corner or 1/4 round moulding.

I am assuming bypass doors maybe even mirror doors here.

Valance is the most common name. Cornice might also be used. The part comes with the door kits. Chances of finding it as a stand alone product are fairly slim. You might be able to make something from wood or even aluminum angle.

Thank you! You may be right...

It is this metal piece that's painted white at the top of the door. (One view from the inside also).

Thanks for your help!

That is it. There are several different ways they are mounted. Some go up before the top track, others mount in front of the track.

Tell me how much space you have from the front of the track to the room edge of the casing and how much of that space is occupied by the door closest to the room and I will try to offer an intelligent suggestion.

About the only thing I can think of that you can buy is a valence for a vertical blind and cut that to fit.

EDIT: Are those your actual pictures or something you found? That appears to be a vertical blind valence, installed before the track.

I personally have never seen that part sold separately.
I believe as pointed out it would be called a valance.
Look close at the track and on the ends of the door panels and see if you can by chance see any type of ID marks for the maker.
If worst comes to worst it looks simple enough for someone make one with coil stock on a metal brake.
Any siding company or contractor could make one in about 10min. if you brought them a sample piece.

Thanks for the help I'm going to try to find something comparable - knowing what it's called should help a lot!

(Yes, my pictures)

FWIW, I've always called it a fascia.
