What to fill in nail holes for window installation

My walls have several large nail holes from where curtain supports used to be. (almost enough to fit my pinky in)

What do I use to fill those holes back in so it will be sturdy enough to reinstall curtain rods?

Thank you!

My thought would be if you are wanting to reuse the same holes, then a toggle bolt anchor could suffice (depending on total load weight). Filling the holes, drying and redrilling would not have the same support strength (IMO).

Are there any studs close by and possibly "shift" your new rods into slightly different location?

I agree, I would use this to fill the holes.

Any hardware, box store is going to have it and it's cheap to buy.
But even that is not going to hold new screws.
