Vinyl Window Frame Seal?

Vinyl window frames supposed to be airtight in order to provide the best energy barrier, right?

If a person needed to bring a coax cable from outside to inside, would it be OK to drill a hole through the window frame, pull the cable through, then seal the frame around the cable (both inside and outside) with silicone caulk?

TIA.

Vinyl Window Frame Seal?

Never!!!!!
Run it through the wall, under the floor, through the attic, anyplace but through a window frame.

Vinyl Window Frame Seal?

Compromise structural integrity and seal, void warranty, look terrible, throw up red flags to future potential buyers and/or inspectors...
You should be able to find a more sensible place to do this.

Vinyl Window Frame Seal?

Thanks for the offer. I guess I'll just drill a hole through the CMU and brick facing, then. I'm replacing an aluminum-framed window with vinyl; one of the POs drilled a hole through the aluminum frame for the coax cable entry point.
