Vinyl Interior Trim Installation

I removed the trim to do some work on the drywall around the window. The trim was held in place with an adhesive strip and caulking. There is a 1/4" gap around the window 2" deep.
Should I put some type of insulation in there and find some new adhesive tape?

Vinyl Interior Trim Installation

From that picture I'm not seeing a wide enough gap to get an expanding foam tube in the gap. It should have been done before the tile went up.
A 4-1/2" angle grinder with a diamond blade could be used to open up the gap in a few places so it will slip in.

Im not sure if we are talking about the same gap. It's the one between the window glass and the drywall. The trim will cover it.
