Sliding shower bottom guide

Whats the trick to removing the nylon guide/retainer on my sliding glass shower door? I'd like to removed for a real thorough cleaning of the track and door frames. They look pretty much like this:

Sliding shower bottom guide

My question should've been "can I remove the doors without removng the clips". I managed to get the guide off the bottom of the door with it in place. But they would've needed to come off anyhow as they were very dirty and Limey. Now what's the best way to get all this line and sosp scum off? CLR????
