Sliding Glass Kitchen Window

I am renovating my kitchen and the underneath my sliding window in the kitchen is a countertop that connects from the inside of the kitchen to the outside patio. I no longer want the counter to extend to the outside patio. How do I reinstall my kitchen window without the extra support from the countertop outside? Do I have to build the concrete back up?

Post an exterior shot of the current setup of the window and it's relationship to the wall opening.
