Sliding glass door seal

My wife noticed daylight under our sliding glass doors. We have a time keeping critters out and I'm sure this doesn't help. Anyone have any experience replacing the seal old doors like these? Any specific tips on how to get this air tight?

Sliding glass door seal

no replies on this, hmm, interesting.

i had that problem once. here is how i fixed it.

i made 2 plates from 1/8" aluminum, about 2" tall x 1 1/2"' wide. i then used my angle grinder to shape the pieces so they fit around the curves of the rail and up close to the other door, and close to the bottom/sill. i then drilled holes and fit them in, with screws. after this, there is a gap between the 2 pieces. i used some weather strip foam, cut to shape, fit on the inside of these 2 pieces on metal. when installed correctly, these pieces of foam came together when the door closed, to make a complete seal.

try and picture that in your head , lol.

There are weatherstripping tabs that you can up on the jamb side of that door to seal that gap as well as fin weatherstripping that should better seal the exterior connection.

Also, it looks like the slider/glider roller mechanism might be jacked up a little more than it needs to be, which is increasing your gap slightly.
