side door water issue


had a new door installed by a friend of a family member last summer.... i tore up my floor for a kitchen reno... and saw that sub floor was wet... ive been tryin to find where its leakin from... i have been caulking it like mad just to try and solve it...but nothing i do stops its..... i have a lot of caulk in there now i know it doesnt look great but its just caulk once i stop the leak ill fix it up nicer... i just dont know what else to do... ill post a few pictures in a minute

could it be there the sills connect ? or would that be unlikely

I would check around molding above door jamb. Just a hunch.

you mean right at the top where the drip edge is?.... i only threw water at the door

I could also be the joint where the siding meets the moulding.

ya its not caulked there im gonna get some... but i didnt put any water there ...

Maybe it's getting under the door, between the bottom of the door and the threshold.

i thought that as well but its all dry there i use a paper towel and its dry

Was the saddle/threshold wet? I am thinking maybe you need a drip edge on bottom of door.

i tiny bit about half an inch maybe less, not all the way inside
