Shopping for a double door plus sidelites

1 Attachment(s)
I'm shopping around for a new front door. I'm replacing a double door with 2 sidelites (see picture below). I've looked at steel doors, but they sure seem to ding up fast. And the wood doors seem too expensive. So I'm now looking at fiberglass doors, something that I can stain to a color I like. Any suggestions about what you'd recommend?

Fiberglass is the way to go. When properly stained you would never know that it wasn’t wood.

I use a lot of Thema-Tru doors they have some real nice stuff.

One thing I do suggest is stay away from the Box Stores on this one. Go to a well established local Lumber Yard. They will have the best selection and customer service.

You will save no money if you order a door from a catalogue at a Box Store.

Thanks for your replies. I'll check out Therma Tru.

Can you tell by looking at my picture if the doors and sidelites are all one unit? The house was built in 1965 if that helps any. I'm wondering if I can just replace the double doors, but keep the old sidelites.

Depending on your skill level, you certainly can just buy the door slabs and install them into the existing frame.

I was wondering if the glass texture would want to be preserved.

Good choice....I'm guessing that glass would not be available from Therma Tru

Those old doors are steel doors. Would we still be able to use the same old frame but with new fiberglass doors? Would that a problem to do?

It won't be a problem as long as the door sizes are exactly the same.

If your question is Steel vs Fiberglass. No problem.
Weatherstripping may become an issue depending on how the steel door was detailed to create a tight seal.
