security storm door

i have purchased a security storm door. i have installed doors before and this is the second door in this location. to start with the measurements i took was 32''x81'' the door was a 32''x80'' i had to take a face board off the door frame and bring it in about 1/2'' to get the frame to line up against the jam correctly.
now the top of the door is flush with the frame,and the bottom is about 1/2'' or so away from the weather stripping. i have tried everything i know as far as shimming and adjusting. and i can't get the door the set plumb.i am about 2minutes away from returning this door.

Have you run a level on the face of the opening? Are the legs out of plumb?

i have not checked with a level,but it was an existing door way.
i have also had door other doors on the frame with no issues.:confused1

If it's not plumb, then why not try checking with a level like the others are saying? You can also check the other doors that fit in this frame, from there you'll know whether the security door can possible fit.

But if this door is causing you too much hassle, then it's probably best you return it. Was it from the same suppliers of your other security door?
