screen door hinge busted!

hi. excellent forum here. the top hinge (if that's what it's called) that attaches my back screen door to the frame of the door has come apart. check out the pics. the first time it happened i put a couple new rivets in there but after a while they just busted out of the metal and now the metal holes are all torn up. so, i can't put more rivets in the torn holes. the hinge thing can't be moved either or i would just drill holes in a new spot. any ideas on how to fix this or do i need a new door? thanks!

screen door hinge busted!

I'd cut a slot through the side and insert a thin piece of sheet metal as a backer. Drill it out and re-rivet.

screen door hinge busted!

First you need to figure out why this keeps happening. Something is causing stress in this area to pull out those rivets. Maybe the screen door frame is swinging too far open and causing this to pull out.
