I need to replace 3 casements windows in my home as the existing ones have rot. These windows will be opening to the front yard from the living room. All the other windows in the room are casement windows and I don't want these to look misplaced and odd. We plan to stay at this house for a long time( some 30+ years) so I also need durable windows. I had a talk with a windows company for casement window installation and they gave me an estimate. How much will be an average rate for the installation of 3 casement windows as I said? I want to know if their quote is reasonable. Please advice.
Only way to find out is to make some more local calls and get some more estimates to see if there price is to high.
No one here knows where you are, what type siding you have, size of the windows or any specifications on the details for the window your looking for.
A "ball park " price for labor is not going to do you any good.
If someone gave you a price over the phone or the net without ever coming on site, beware.
I agree with Joe.
As for wanting the new windows to be an identical match, more difficult than jut replacement windows. What you have are probably "new construction" windows and they were installed before the siding. To install another identical window would require pulling the siding and that is why Joe asked.
If they quoted a price for "replacement windows" (new construction and replacement are the terms to describe the two options) those windows will fit inside your existing frames, less expensive and easier to install, but they won't look the same, the total frame will be thicker.
Did they specify New Construction or Replacement windows and what type of ciding do you have. Vinyl is not a difficult job.
