We just replaced a window in the house. It has a half moon shape on top of the regular window. The wrong size was ordered and needs filling in around the halfmoon on top. Any suggestings besides ripping it out and getting another?
We ended up taking the window out and reordering a new one. When the order was put in at Lowes they input a frame size of 39 3/4 by 60 1/4 with nailing flange and half round 18 1/2 over double hung. When the numbers were put in in this order the 18 1/2 changed the other two numbers to 37 1/4 by 59 1/4. The new window we reordered should be ok as we are using the correct figures for height and width but 19 5/8 on the half round height.
You answered your own question but it was ordered incorrect.
Half rounds are always 2:1 in terms of window width to half round height.
