Replacing window glass

I have a double pane glass window that was shot twice with a BB gun. The top and bottom sections both were shot once but the first panes were only thing damaged. My question is, can I replace just the glass or do I have to have whole window replaced. Can I do it myself or should I have someone else do it? I am a pretty handy go around the house.

Thank for any responses.

If it's a welded seam vinyl window, then no your going to need two new sashes.

that may indeed be the better option, however there is no window that does not have glazing beads on one side (interior or exterior), facilitating IG replacement. Glass replacement will be cheaper in material, but sash replacement often makes up for that (and more) in labor.

How old is the window? Any serial number identification?
