Replacement Basement Windows

I have 3 basement windows in need of replacing. They are single pane sliding type. Air leakage is the issue as well as generally falling apart. They measure 12 x 30 inches. Poured concrete foundation. Is this size a hard size for replacments? I have looked around with no luck. Thanks, Julie

What you need is what's called a hopper window.
Any siding supply, Lowes and Home Depot can special order them for you.
It's not a big deal, most vinyl windows are custom made.

The height is on the short side. Many vinyl manufacturers won't go that small, as 13-14" are common minimums. I know there are a few though that do. I'd recommend calling a local building supply house (like ABC or Allied). They'll have access to more options there, plus you'll probably deal with someone that knows what the heck they are talking about-- unlike the box stores.

Also be prepared that the opening size (viewable glass) will decrease slightly with a replacement window.

You can also replace the windows with glass block windows. A small jalousie window can be installed in the glass block.
