Replace a string balance on a reliabilt 3500 window

How do you remove and replace a string with pulley balance on a reliabilt window mfg'd in '09 ?
It is made for a tilt-in window.

Can you get to it from behind the trim? I don't know. I've never seen one.

It should be a vinyl tilt in window.

In that application, you wouldn't bother with replacing the string. Replace the whole balance assembly. It is pretty easy and is usually only held in place by 1 or 2 screws.

Look at the balance tube and get the number off of it and call Reliabilt. They should be able to get you the replacement either under warranty or for a small fee.

+1. I dont know that product inside and out, but it sounds like a block and tackle balance. As WoW said, couple screws is all it takes. They are one of the easiest balance assemblies to replace.
