Protectowrap not adhering to cellotex fiberboard
1 Attachment(s)
I am installing a new sliding glass door and after installing the rubber flashing on the top of the door, the next morning I came out and the flashing had all fallen back off of the black fiberboard. Someone had told me it is called cellotex. Is any one aware of a product that will stick or do I need to cut back the cellotex and replace it with a wood product similar to whats on the sides? I am getting ready to put all new windows - new construction - (since siding is getting replaced also) and wondering if I will need to do the same thing on all of them. I have include a pic. Thanks for the help.

I would get rid of the Cellotex. It was a poor idea when it was invented.
In addition to that no way would I install a slider that's that close to a deck without a sill pan.
Been there done that way to many times, most codes call for a minimum of 4", some it's 6" from any door threshold to any solid surface.
The splash back gets under the door and can do thousands of dollars in damage.
