Prehung interior door size help

Hi and thanks in advance
I want to install a prehung interior door.
The old door and frame is removed.
The size is: width from stud to stud 34.5 inches
Height from floor to stud is 81 1/4 - everything removed. No tile etc
Would a 32 by 80 prehung door fit? Online says I need 82 inches height which I don't have.
If not what size do I need?

Any rough framing on a prehung door is 2" wider then the door size and about 2" on the height.
Just reframe the opening. Far cheaper then paying for a custom door.

That should work fine, you want 2" bigger width and have 2 1/2" so little extra shimming.
You want 1" taller and you are short there.
Worst case scenario is to cut down the door and jambs by a 1/2", it is common and depends on flooring and such.
Really is no way around it, you are so close it may work, but if you need help cutting down the door and frame you came to right place.

If you have a reciprocating saw you can notch out 3/4 inch off the bottom of that header and the door will work fine. JMHO
