Prehung door

I have a finished door way, it used to have a folding accorden type door all it had when we moved in was some trim and the top track. I want to install a prehung door do I need to remove the dry wall?

Either go buy the door and jamb... or take a tape to the store... and measure the size required so you can answer this question for yourself.

Then what are you looking (hoping?) to hear? You have to know what size the door going into this opening is (and what the opening is now) before you can even begin to think about whatever modifications may, or may not, be necessary.

Your question is not much different than me asking you if my front yard needs to be mowed today.

Prehung door

Wide enough that I had to use a 3/4 board on one side to shim in a 30" door with the sheet rock still in place
