Patio Glass & Door Question

Live in Oklahoma - door faces west - have a patio cover built so no direct sun until late in the day
Replacing patio door, currently sliding - quotes on Pella Vinyl & Anderson 100 series. We also received a quote to convert to a Masonite French style smooth fiberglass door. Like idea of French door but don't know which way is the best to go. The Masonite door comes primed not painted. Anderson was quoted about $100 more then Pella and about $400 more then Masonite for door & install.

See that most if not all say to stay away from Pella Vinyl, but just curious if that's the same comparing it to 100 series Anderson. Any experience with Masonite? Also, what's the preference on glass? Both Anderson and Pella have different options for glass and assume the same for Masonite. That's the only "option" we would consider using. Considering this is our first house, been here about 9 years, we don't plan on retiring here, but want a door we shouldn't have to worry about for the next 10 years.

Patio Glass & Door Question

I have a Masonite Belleville fiberglass entry door. Thankfully it's in my garage. It has warped from being exposed to the sun and the weather seal isn't great. I wouldn't get another one.

I have Andersen 400 Frenchwood doors and windows in my house. I've been very happy with the product and upgraded the glass to the SmartSun to reduce UV.

With windows and doors, you get what you pay for.

Patio Glass & Door Question

I put in 3 Anderson 200 series in my home back in 1995 and they have been trouble free.

Patio Glass & Door Question

Seen some Marvin & others but where I live install/delivery throws it out of the budget. Probably could install, but I don't have the patience with myself.
Anyway, still figuring on going with the Anderson, just didn't know if the investment in upgrading the glass was worth the extra $.
