Patio door size

We recently purchased a small vacation home. The patio door on the home needs to be replaced...we are not sure of our long term plan on this wall (we might add on to the home)...so did not want to invest in an expensive door yet.

So...we purchased a used patio door. However, I am now having concerns about the door sizes.

The existing door certainly looks and measures to be a standard size and fits into a 72X80 rough opening.

However, the used door we purchased appears to be a bit taller - as the frame is measuring 82 inches tall. It is an Andersen door from 1983 or so...model PSII 6L.

Would Andersen have made a door that is 82 inches tall? See attached measurements from the parts catalog. Do the measurements include the outside door trim?

Although 80" doors are by far the most popular 82" doors are available. I've installed many of them.

You would need to raise (not cut) the header to make the 82" work.
