Patio door frame rot

I want to cut out the rot at the bottom of my patio door frame (not sure that is the term - it is the center "beam" of a hinged door), but it measures 2.0" x 2.25" and I am not sure the best way to replace that. I thought about joining three 1xs to get the 2.25", but three pieces of wood doesn't seem right. Hopefully I am missing the obvious option...

Thanks

Patio door frame rot

It's called the jamb. If you attempt it, use composite.
