painting doors

We bought new interior primed wood paneled doors and we want to spray paint them. We were told to use interior decorating paint but dont know if we need to thin it first with water before spraying. Anybody know?

Are they already hung?
Have you ever sprayed before?
What type sprayer are you planning to use?

What is interior decorating paint? To answer the question.

Read the can.

we are using Behr premium plus ultra, stain blocking, paint & primer in one. Which is interior semi-gloss enamel.

Thanks, LOL, it definitely helped to read the can, 1/2 pint water per gallon, now just have to break down to smaller amount for sprayer bottle size, won't take much.

You got it... Definitely want to thin that out a bit for spraying. You'll probably want to practice on some junk first as you fine tune the mixture.

Paint sprayer

Now that I've thinned the paint I am still not getting the shiny finish my wife wants. LOL. Do I need to apply a polyurethane sealer? if so by spray can or by sprayer?
I am also using a sprayer I got at Harbor Freight, primarily for auto painting. Will using a different sprayer make a difference. I am a beginner in spray painting so do I need a sprayer that is made just for wood projects. Apprec iate any assistance or knowledge shared.

If I were you.
#1 Go to a real paint store and get some real quality paint.
#2 Forget the sprayer.
Just my opinion.
