Paint peeling off old wooden window frame

Hello everyone,

I have around 5 very old wooden windows all around the basement level of my parent's house. The paint on the frame is starting to peel off and the sealant caulk between the glass and the frame can also be removed easily with the putty knife. There are no visible holes in the wood. I was wondering what is the best way to restore them?

I have zinsser 123 primer, circa 1850 furniture stripper, and 60 grit sand paper

Should I strip the paint that is not firmly attached to the frame using sand paper, prime it and paint it? Or should i strip all the old paint using the circa 1850 furniture stripper?

I have also read about wood hardeners do you think I should use this?

Here are some pictures:

It is the first time I work with wood, so I dont know much
Thank you very much
