New Windows On 50 Year Old House

I'm looking to have 5-6 windows replaced in my home. I surely will go with vinyl double hung windows since I have painted the wooden windows in my house way too many times for my liking. I was just wondering if anybody tried Home Depot Or Sears for installing your windows. I figure they might be cheaper than some of these larger window companies. I'm on a tight budget so if anybody knows if they do good work I'd like to know. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

You will not save money with HD or Sears. As a matter of fact you’ll pay double of what you should.
Buy all means have them out and give you a price but don’t sign anything.

Get bids from local contractors. Go to your local lumber yard that been there forever for referrals.

In my experience/opinion:
Sears: Typically offers a quality product/install at a very high price
HD & box stores: offer questionable products and installation (prices vary regionally)

I would recommend finding an established local company that specializes in window installation. You'll likely find a superior product, install, and price.
