I tried to get at this in an earlier post but perhaps was a bit too indirect and did not get any responses -- anyway, an Architect friend recommended Kolbe wood windows for my addition project. It's a 150 year old house and he felt they would be more sympathetic to the original structure. my question is -- how much of a price premium do they represent when compared to say andersen, and are they worth it in folks' opinion? Any suggestions to the contrary?
We have used a lot of Kolbe&Kolbe windows. They really have some creative designs that match well with older structures. The windows themselves are so so. Not sure about the price, but I know they are substantially more than your typical Andersens.
