key barrel removal in security door

Hi, we are having trouble removing the key barrel in a security door as the key does not turn fully in the locking position therefore the cam is not in position. Can you help?

There is usually a screw in or under the plate on the edge of the door mech. I can't remember right off hand if you have to take the plate off or not but there is a screw that holds the barrel assembly in, just take that screw out and the barrel should pull out or screw out.
