Istalling a storm door with j channel instead of brickmold
I'm looking for a bit of advice and or guidance from anyone who may have experienced this in the past. I have ordered an Anderson storm door that I intend on hanging this weekend however the home does not have traditional brickmolding, instead it has J channel holding the vinyl siding running up to the door jam. I've been considering cutting wood wedges to place under the J channel and srewing it against the house in an effort to have something firm to hang the storm door frame off of. I had considered trimming the siding back and moving the J channel over enough to add brickmolding however the deck posts are positioned in manner that won't allow this. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've attached a photo of the J channel and how it is currently positioned.
