Interior Side of a Window
Hello everyone,
I need some help with a window. I installed a new interior window. The depth of the window is less than the 3x4s thus on the interior side of the window I have about a 2" that is not covered by the window. I am talking about the inside of the frame where the flashing goes. However, since it is an interior window I did not put any flashing on it so I have the bare 3x4s now. What can I do with that? Should I just cover it with thin and long strips of drywall and paint it or are there other options? Could I put a couple layers of joint tape directly on the wood, joint compound and paint over it? Or maybe some wodden strips? I hope I explained this well enough.

Thanks for your help

I'm having a hard time deciphering exactly what you are talking about... A pic would be a tremendous help. :)

the interior trim profile design already in your home will match and attach to the window. Do you have drywall on the wall around the window or waas it not needed?
