Insulation under the bow window

our entire bow window was taken out, frame and all. I noticed there was very little insulation underneath from the original installation. Shouldn't the window installers put insulation underneath as well as the foan on the sides and inbetween the windows? Like regular insulation? Isn't this code?

Code? You need to put your location in for that answer---codes vary.

You may need to have some box work built to accommodate more insulation--1 1/2" or 2" foam usually is enough--unless you live far north.---Mike----

Always a good idea to install insulation at the bottom side.
I install a 1x4 around the bottom of all of the bows and bays I install and then fill the cavity with insulation.
Finish it off as desired.
