Installing a New Front Door
Trying to install my door I noticed that it is sticking and seems not square. Do I lift up on one of the sides and shim under it? Or do I just shim the sides?
Thanks for your advice

First you level it side to side by shimming under one side as necessary.

Then you shim the sides to plumb/square and nail it.

Usually, you can just pull the shims out from the bottom once it's nailed.

The hinge side is key.... plumb the hinge side, level the sill (with shims if necessary), then shim the top and latch side for an even reveal. That's it.

I would add is that you should caulk under the sill with
polyurethane caulking, more so if you have to shim to level it.
Don't use silicone...It doesn't bond as well.
Fill around outside of frame with window and door spray foam
for a good seal and to hold everything together.

This is what I do:

level first by placing plastic shims every 4'' under the door. Run a thick bead of caulk as well, then put door in opening

once door is in opening and is centered and checked for level, shim the hinge side plum, and fasten.

Use the door to ensure nice reveal for latch side, shim and fasten. I usually like to hide the screws beneath the weather stripping.
