Basic carpentry tools. Hammer, saw, drill, screwdrivers. Maybe more depending what wall you're going through.
But the most important tool you need is the knowledge to do the job safely and competantly.
Who's going to help you?
Do they have any experience modifying a load bearing wall? If they do not, I'd come up with a "Plan b".
