installing door lock, door won't latch
 

I am trying to put a lock on my bedroom door and after trying three differe nt knobs realized that the hole was drilled in he door wrong. It is too far into the door so the latch doed not catch and the door can just be pushed open. Is there a way to fix this without replacing the door.

Most interior locks are 2 3/8 setback. If yours was drilled for 2 3/4, look for a 2 3/4 bolt from the same manufacturer.

Also, many bolts are adjustable 2-3/8" to 2-3/4".
