Help figuring out how to use salvage windows as shower surround
We are remodelling a bathroom in our turn of the century home, and have built a walk-in shower. I would like to make a shower surround like the one in the photo below and have a local salvage place where I can buy the windows; however, I would like to find a way to use them safely, ie if someone were to slip and break the glass. Would I need to replace every pane with safety glass, or could I put a large single safety glass pane on the shower-facing side of the window, keeping the old glass in place? Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Without seeing the glazing bead and glass attachment method, it is impossible to say what is possible.
It is very likely that the window can be retrofitted to included tempered glass per the code for glazing in shower surrounds.
